Volvo Trucks North America "Volvo Trucks" is recalling certain 2020-2024 VNR Electric vehicles. The rivnut threaded inserts inside the high-voltage battery may be over-tightened and break, which could result in a short circuit.
An electrical short circuit increases the risk of a fire.
Dealers will replace the batteries, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters informing owners of the safety risk were mailed September 15, 2023. Owners will receive a second notice once remedy becomes available. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 1-800-528-6586. Volvo Trucks' number for this recall is RVXX2308.
