In the event of a left tag axle tire blow out, debris from the blown tire may damage the Fuel Pro fuel filter compartment base plate.

Consequence

Damage to the base plate may lead to a fuel leak inside the engine compartment. A fuel leak, in the presence of an ignition source, may result in a vehicle fire.

Remedy

Van Hool through their US agent, ABC Bus, Inc., will notify owners, and dealers will install a thicker base plate to protect the fuel filter, free of charge. The safety recall began on December 13, 2012. Owners may contact ABC Bus, Inc. toll free at 1-877-427-7278.
