Summary:
A CRACK OCCURS OUTBOARD OF THE AXLE ATTACHMENT WHICH GROWS AND RESULTS IN SEPARATION OF THE END OF THAT AXLE, INCLUDING TIRES AND WHEELS, FROM THE TRAILER. |

Consequence:
AXLE SEPARATION WHILE MOVING CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF A VEHICLE ACCIDENT. |

Remedy:
DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE TRAILERS AT ALL 8 WELDS ON THE AXLE TO AIR RIDE BEAM CONNECTIONS FOR VISIBLE CRACKS. IF A CRACK IS DETECTED, THE TRAILERS WILL BE REMOVED FROM SERVICE AND THE AXLES REPLACED. |
