Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC "MBUSA" is recalling certain 2013 GLK250 vehicles equipped with 4-cylinder diesel engines. The incorrect type of transmission fluid filter and overflow pipe may have been installed during a service repair, which could result in a transmission fluid leak or control module failure.
A transmission fluid leak can increase the risk of a fire. In addition, a transmission control module failure could result in a vehicle stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers will replace the overflow pipe and transmission fluid filter, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on September 3, 2021. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.
