Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC "MBUSA" is recalling certain 2024 GLE 450e Plug-in Hybrid "PHEV" vehicles. Due to a software error in the electronic stability program "ESP", the force required to stop the vehicle may increase, possibly requiring an extended distance to stop.
Extended stopping distance can increase the risk of a crash.
Dealers will update the ESP control unit software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on February 29, 2024. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 'TTY 1-800-424-9153', or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
