Mack Trucks, Inc. "Mack" is recalling certain 2023 Granite "GR" vehicles. The front-drive steer axle fasteners may not have been tightened sufficiently and could come loose, resulting in a complete separation of the axle assembly joints.
Steer axle assembly separation can result in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers will replace and tighten the axle fasteners, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 20, 2023. Owners may contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0441.
