Lonestar Specialty Vehicles is recalling certain 2021-2023 SV Hybrid Electric S22 terminal tractors. The Vehicle Control Unit "VCU" may disable the Battery Management System "BMS" isolation measurement feature, preventing the detection of a high voltage battery pack malfunction.
An operator may be unaware of a high voltage battery pack malfunction, increasing the risk of a fire.
Lonestar Specialty Vehicles has released an over-the-air "OTA" VCU software update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 19, 2024. Owners may contact Lonestar customer service at 1-903-306-0801.
